Strasburg Impressive in Return
Stephen Strasburg appeared in his first major league game last night since undergoing Tommy John surgery. Strasburg looked like he had no time off from the majors in that game against the Dodgers. He allowed two hits, while having a five inning shutout. Strasburg threw 60 pitches with 40 strikes. The former 1st pick even scored the first run of his career in the second inning.

The Washington Redskins coach Mike Shanahan has announced Rex Grossman as the starting Quarterback for their season opener against the New York Giants.
The starting position has been up in the air between Grossman and the now 2nd string quarterback John Beck. The battle was a close one but Grossman managed to edge Beck out according to coach Shanahan.

Garrard Released by Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars have released veteran quarterback David Garrard, which will save the franchise $9 million this season.
This move by the Jaguars is similar to what they did in 2007 to quarterback Byron Leftwich, which made Garrard the starting quarterback just before the season opener. Luke McCown is expected to be the starter against the Tennessee Titians this Sunday.
