Misty May-Treanor And Kerri Walsh End Dominant Olympic Run
It was the showdown between two us teams, Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh vs their fellow countrywomen, April Ross and Jenifer Kessy who had to ended up with silver instead. It was clearly their match from the start finishing their opponents in two sets of 21-6, 21-6.Gold medalists for the third time they have accomplished something few athletes can do especially with such dominance. At this point, it is without a doubt obvious that Misty and Kerri are the best Beach Volleyball has seen in a long time. From the summer games before Athens where they held onto a 89-match streak, they won all 14 sets. Going into Beijing they had a record a 112 winning streak, all knew that no one would stand in their way and in yet another perfect run without losing a single set beat the Chinese 21-18, 21-18.4 Years later and now a third-seeded team there were critics who doubted if Misty and Kerri would be able to pull off win. As the London games progressed they showed them they could, defeating team after team with games that showed up their telepathic ability to recognize where their teammate would hit the ball.Sure there were a few games where the rallies became long and dramatic but in the end Kerri and Misty have retained their title. Despite May-Treanor says this will be her last Olympics we might see these two amazing players back on the sand in Rio 2016.
